How to stay positive
How to stay positive
There was a time when I used to wake up and feel… tired, even before the day started. Nothing dramatic had happened. No big problem. But still, my head felt heavy. Thoughts were already running—random worries, old memories, things I said yesterday, things I should have done better. You know that feeling? Like your brain starts talking before you even get out of bed. And I used to sit there thinking, why is it so hard to stay positive? Because honestly, I wasn’t even asking for happiness… I just wanted some peace.

The weird part—
From the outside, everything looked fine. I was doing my work, talking normally, laughing sometimes. But inside, it felt like my mind just wouldn’t slow down. That constant noise… It drains you. At one point, I tried all the usual things. Watching motivational videos, reading quotes, repeating those “positive daily affirmations.” But most of the time, it felt fake.
Because something is really off inside me. I don’t know what I’m doing or does it make me happy. I used to work and act like a robot with no feeling. I used to make negative scenarios in my mind, faking bad situations, like, “What if something bad happens? How would I react? How will I overcome that situation?”
And then one day I realise why I’m doing this with myself. Why am I ruining my mental health with my own thoughts? The situations I’m assuming and scenarios I’m creating in my mind may never happen in my life. And if I’m thinking something, then why am I not thinking in a positive way? People always say that a negative mind will never give you a positive life. That day I decided to study my mind and find a cure for that problem.
How do you stop bad thoughts
First stop fighting with your thoughts. Whenever bad thoughts come into your mind don’t dive into that thought; take a pause, relax your mind, and tell yourself that it’s just a thought.
I started doing small things differently. Whenever a negative thought came in, instead of going deep into it, I’d pause and think: “Okay… this is just a thought. Not reality.” That tiny shift helped more than any motivation ever did. Because slowly, I stopped believing everything my mind said. And that’s honestly the real answer to how to stay positive during tough times— not by forcing happiness, but by creating a little space between you and your thoughts.

Negative thinking treatment
Stop thinking like a bad day or any bad thought or situation is the end of your story. Always remind yourself that this is not the end; you are the author of your story, so just write the best ending for yourself and keep rewriting it until you are satisfied.
The small habits that actually helped Nothing dramatic. No big life change. Just small things like stepping outside for fresh air, moving my body a little, and eating better when I could These things didn’t fix everything. But they made your mind a little calmer. And sometimes, that’s all you need. Always remember that you become what you think. Keep thinking wins and be good for yourself.
Just start here:
- notice your thoughts
- question them a little
- be slightly kinder to yourself
how to practice self-love
This part took me the longest to understand. You didn’t even realize how harsh I was being with myself. Every mistake turned into self-criticism. Every bad day felt like failure. So I tried something simple. Not “I love myself” kind of thing… just being a little less rude to myself. Instead of saying, “I messed everything up,” I started saying, “Okay… that didn’t go well, but it’s fine.” And honestly? That felt more real. That’s what practicing self-love actually looks like. Not big changes. Just sma all kindness in everyday thoughts.
How to be a better person
At some point, I stopped trying to become this “perfect, positive version” of myself. It was exhausting. Instead, I focused on something simpler— just being a little better than yesterday. That’s it. A little more patient. A little less reactive. A little more aware. That’s how you slowly learn how to be a better person. Not overnight. Not perfectly. Just step by step. And somewhere along the way, I noticed something… My mind wasn’t as heavy anymore. Not completely peaceful. But manageable. And I think that’s the real answer to staying positive. It’s not about removing negative thoughts. It’s about not letting them control everything. Because the truth is simple— you become what you think, slowly and quietly. And if you keep feeding your mind negativity, it grows. That’s why a negative mind will never give you a positive life. But the good part? You can change that… little by little.
Always remember a positive mental attitude can change your entire life
